Brief Description:  Make A/P wiring harness

Saturday. Made the autopilot wiring harness. I had drawn the connections from the Tru-Trac diagrams so that I could understand where each wire was to go. The next shipment came from B and C with 22 ga wire. I didn't get any the first time around. I created lables on the computer and heat shrank (heat shrinked?) the lables to both ends on the harness. Again I made the wing root end about 5 feet long so the harness will go well into the fuselage. The seven autopilot wires along with the three lighting wires fit through the grommets in the ribs with plenty of room to spare. I could run about three more 16 ga wires without making the harness bind where it goes through the ribs. I put the Adel clamps on to keep everything in place, so the harness can't get into the monkey works.
The wiring part was real easy. I already had the aviation strippers. The 9-pin D-sub connector pins crimped right on with the proper tool from B and C. The connectors slip right in the D-sub connector and the removal tool works as advertised. All in all very straight forward. This encourages me for the future when it comes time to wire the instrument panel.
I also spent some time finishing up some of the small things on the wing. Just getting ready to install the lower wing skins.
