Brief Description: Mount skin to spar and drill table
Let's see .. where to begin. Mount the bottom skin to the spar. Drill into the table and then drill the holes oversize so the colecos will fit through the holes. Wait! First I need a 5/8 drill bit. Then the assembly needs to be weighted down, so I also need sand bags. Off to Home Depot. I made sand bags from play sand by filling 1 gallon ziplock bags and doublebagging them. I made 8 sand bags out of two 40 lb bags of sand so each bag weighs about 10 lbs. Back to the airplane.
Assemble the skin and spar, drill the table, flip the thing over and fit the colecos through the holes. Now the skin will lay flat on the table still colecoed to the ribs. Install the top skin and the nose skins. Installing the nose skins is easier saifd than done, but with some care and pushing, pulling, a few words and some grunts I was able to get it all together. Match drill the whole thing, top and bottom. This is one of those times that I am glad I bought the 12" drill bit. Drilling up from the bottom would have been very difficult using any other method. Also drilled the trailing edge wedge.
