Brief Description:

The last few days I've been getting ready to mount the right half of the vertical stabilizer. That means doing as much as I can now that would be difficult to reach after the VS is in. Yesterday and today I've spent mounting a fresh air ventilation fan in the left rear of the fuselage, just forward of the inspection access. The right side installation might have created better access for future maintenance, but I already have the batteries and yaw damper on that side, and the vent fan does weigh a couple of pounds, so I went for balance. Fan is now mounted, and linear actuator mount (for the butterfly valve) is floxed in, with bid reinfnorcing to come after closing the VS. In photo 2 below the pivot arm on the valve is upside down, but it's just there for positioning the actuator. I can't take credit for this design. Dave McKnight has the same setup, and shared his pictures on the forum.
