Brief Description:

I've finally got the plane stashed away, and most of my tools shifted upstairs to the garage, so yesterday and today I actually made progress on construction. Since I'm essentially out of honeycomb, yesterday I used my donated carbon fiber to make a large enough panel to complete the front floor. I vacuum bagged this panel, and it turned out well on one side, but some of the resin stuck to my table, so the other side is not pretty, but it is sound. Today I went to the airport and made measurements on my Cessna Cutlass to see rudder pedal to floor distance, to aid in sizing the floor. No dimensions in the manual. After that I spent quite a while fabricating templates for the floor supports from thin plywood underlayment, my favorite template material. Next I'll fabricate the supports from honeycomb, then make floorboard templates from plywood.
