I'm just adding an average of two hours per day of working, although there are lots of days I work more. But the real purpose of this log is not to keep track of hours, but to document the construction process. Anyway, since last week, I've reinforced the engine mount and rudder gussets, cleaned the shop, etc. This last weekend we placed the top of the fuselage in place, so that I can work on the sternpost and get a good idea of where and how to add the armrests, especially to the left side. The manual is devoid of details about this process. They advise to make the door frame part of the left armrest. That's fine, but how to merge it into the armrests on either side of the door? This is complicated in part by the fact that the door frame does not meet the wing spar or aileron bulkheads. Also, there is a large gap between those supports, and the door frame is quite thin. I had to add to the existing supports to meet the door frame, and fabricated another support between those two, to make sure that there is support for the door frame.
