Brief Description:

Over the last few days I've begun to tackle the wing fairings. This is not easy, by any means. There's lots of cutting, fitting, sanding, fitting, cutting, etc., etc. The manual suggests that turning the fuselage upside down is a good idea for fitting the lower fairings. Good advice, except that you have to bolt the wings in after the fuselage is upside down. Right. That job is hard enough when it's easy to manipulate the wings into place and get the bolts fitted. I just can't see even trying that upside down. Anyway, the fitting is going pretty well. It would go better with a helper, but it's pretty hard to round up volunteers for the hour or two I have after work during the week. Pictures below are before final trimming of the fuselage edge of the fairings.
