Brief Description:

For the last three days, I've begun the process of mating the wings to the fuselage. That is quite a task as it seems, especially in the mid-90's of Georgia's summer. Since neither my garage nor my basement will accommodate the 35 foot wingspan, I've had to put up a couple of canopies adjacent to the garage, tarping the structures to protect them from UV.

After doing the intial set-up, yesterday with help from good friends, we introduced the wings to the fuselage. About all we could do before the heat got unbearable was to get the wings together and set up the incidence, align the wings to the fuselage, and level the wings and fuselage as a unit. Doesn't sound like much, but it takes a lot of fiddling.

Today I was able, despite the heat, to fit the forward shear web to the fuselage and wing spar. Tomorrow hopefully I'll be able to fit the rear web to the fuselage.
