Brief Description:

So much time, but really little progress. Started the day finishing off the flap inspection plates. I am quite satisfied with the results, and now feel pretty good about the techniques necessary to make these necessary items lood pretty good. After that, I sanded the top of the wing at the tip, and that looks good as well. Next, Cathy helped me flip the wing, so that I could work on the lower side wingtip. After some time trimming the tip some more, I set the ten nutplates, after drillling the screw holes. My next plan was to place micro at the wing joggle/wing tip junction. But when I placed the mounting screws in place, unlike the top of the tip, however, the bottom edge of the wingtip did not sit flat in the joggle. Well, isn't that special? The cure involved screwing an aluminum strip along the edge, then applying judicious heat. That worked pretty well, but not quite enough. So I ended up drilling extra holes, clecoeing the edge, and applying more heat. That got it done pretty well. Tomorrow I'll be able to set that micro.

Also today, though, I did get the time to set the NACA scoop for the fuel vent into the wing tip.
