Brief Description:

I'm finallyl satisfied with the flap/wing skin gap. Now it's time to fit the flap, make and set the ribs, etc. Started this process by fitting and trimming the aileron at it's inboard end, at BL 138, then trimmed the flap to meet the aileron. Later I'll sand the appropriate gap, after filling the ends of the flap and aileron. Only obvious problem here is that the flap trailing edge is about 5/16 inch shorter than the adjacent aileron trailing edge. I don't think this is a first for this issue, so I'll do some research tonight. I know that I'm going to have to elongate the flap trailing edge, though.
After that, I attached the flap hinge plates, no small task I'm afraid, due to my woefully too small access holes. I do have some skin left on my fingers and wrists, but certainly not much.
Next I began my favorite task, fabricating ribs. The templates supplied with the kit are not too bad, but in the end are realy not much more than a starting point. This is a tedious process, and my stamina today allowed only for the completion of one rib, the BL 27.5 rib. One down, three to go.
