Now it's time to merge the aileron with the wing. This involved checking the aileron travel, both up and down, and getting the wing trailing wing edges straight, checking at all times the wing/aileron gap. I've basically decided to ignore the manual's .05 suggested clearance between the aileron and wing skin. Really? Look at any certified airplane. Is that the clearance? Certainly not. My main concerns are making sure that travel limits are per spec, ensuring enough clearance to allow for paint, and maintaing a straight and uniform gap appearance. My results ain't perfect, but they aren't bad at all.
