Brief Description:

Tonight I put the first, and some of the second coat, of sealer in the fuel bays. This sealer is not nearly as difficult to work with as Hysol, but it sure gets petty much everywhere. I figured the way to work it, though. I used plastic yogurt cups, marked at the one and three ounce levels on the outside with Sharpie. Looking at the marks from the inside, I placed one ounce of Part B to the one ounce line, then added Part A to the three ounce line, for the two to one ratio. That doesn't sound like much, but each three ounces was enough to coat one fuel bay, and remained easily workable, with no exotherming. The other trick I learned was to pour almost all of the misture on the bottom of the bay, spread it around a bit, then take it from there to the spars and capstrips with a one inch brush. This delayed the exotherming further, giving plenty of time to work carefully. I'll have to touch up tomorrow morning before work, to ensure re-coating within twenty-four hours. I'll also put some extra in the corners, surely the most likely place for leaks.
