Brief Description:

Today I spent a whole lot of time just getting the lower skin ready to apply the fuel tank sealer. First, I had to remove the left-over glue from the duct tape used to set the capstrips. The best and safest removal product, was WD-40, and a kitchen scouring pad. But that was not the end of it. I knew that WD-40 would not be great for bonding, so I began cleaning with acetone. That worked, but revealed a rather heavy layer of, apparently, mold release wax. So I continued with repeated cleanings with acetone. Eventually the acetone cleanings came out clean, but it did take time. After that, I scuffed all bonding areas of the lower wing, vacuumed and cleaned again.
