Over the past three days I've made good progress on the capstrips. As of this afternoon, all ribs are complete but two inboard ribs, but not yet reinforced. I decided not to do more than two or three ribs per session, to make sure I didn't rush to avoid the epoxy cure. My benchmark is to have the skin closed within thirty minutes of mixing the first epoxy. I also decided to use a micro/epoxy slurry to bond the capstrips to the ribs, just to help fill any lingering gaps. Finally, I decided to overlap the capstrips about 1/2 inch on the main spar and the rib/shear web intersections in the fuel bay areas. The overlap is not noticeable at all, and this will give me a bit more piece of mind about the integrity of the fuel bays. The last thing I want is a leak.
