Today I popped the lower skin to reveal the first wing micro release. All things considered, I was pleased. The goal is 1/8 inch or less of gap between the ribs and the skin. For the most part, I did achieve that, with a few areas with no more than 1/4 inch. After popping the skin, I took a photo of the micro as it looks after the initial release. Then I broke off and sanded the excess micro. After that, I placed new micro on the remainder of the outboard ribs, and the outboard spar and shear web. Photos below show the sequence between initial layup of the wet micro, then as the micro looks after popping the skin after cure, then finally the finished look of the micro after removing excess.
