Tonight I started on the counterweight horn gaps. The left elevator has sufficient clearance already to allow the gaps to be completed only by adding micro. The right elevator was not so lucky. I only had about 1/8 inch gap, and the supplemented manual now calls for 1/4 inch at least to ensure no ice buildup. My choice was to trim the elevator horn or the hstab outer rib. It made a lot more sense to trim on the hstab rib. So that's what I did. I took off one side of the prepreg and sanded the edges down to the right place, sufficient to allow for 2bid reinforcement and some extra micro for fine finishing.
