Tonight I worked some more on the gap between the right elevator and the horizontal stabilizer. The gap looks really good at about .07 inch, a bit more than the .05 specified. I had asked my friend Steve to look at similar gaps at Oshkosh this year, and he measured finished gaps of at least .125 inch. I think that a bit more than .07 will be just about right for the rough fitting, with the primer and paint bringing the finished gap closer to .05.
Photo 3 below shows one segment I needed to fill further, as the gap was closer to .125 already. More sanding and fitting tomorrow.
