I started this evening by measuring the chord of both elevators, to make sure that they match. To my great relief (read amazement) they matched within at most 1/8 inch, but mostly exactly. That minor difference can easily be removed with light sanding.
After that, I returned to reinforcing the end ribs, and per the manual I added 2 bid to each inboard rib as shown below.
One thing I'm considering is wrapping the trailing edge of the elevators with 1 or 2 bid. As they exist now, they are less than 1/8 inch thick, and the two skins are held together only by Hysol. I'll have to build up the trailing edges anyway to fill the joggles, so if I can add some structure, I'll worry less about delamination. Any comments are welcome.
