I decided to wait to form the capstrips on the rudder, until after the hinges are set. This will make riveting the nutplates much easier.

So today I switched gears back to the elevators. First job was to remove them from the hstab. Then all the temporary screws from the leading edge had to come out. Next I trimmed the right elevator skin to clear the rudder as required by the manual. (That's a scary thought.) After that, I formed micro fillets on the inboard sides of the inboard elevator ribs in preparation for the 2 bid reinforcement. Finally I filled the screw holes on the right elevator leading edge, and added some more micro to the leading edge to fill some small areas where the skins did not quite meet, so that when I add the 2bid reinforcement to the leading edges it will lay smoothly.
