This afternoon I popped the left upper elevator skin off the bottom. The result is shown below. The 2 bid capstrips placed yesterday bonded well to the ribs and spar. I oversized them on purpose. The finished width if the capstrips is approximately 1 1/2 inch. Next step was to sand and place micro at the junction of the ribs, spar and capstrips. This proved almost impossible without an initial trim, so I did so, and placed the micro. The onlly way to do this was by hand, because of the short heights of the spar and ribs. After the micro cures I'll sand it again, and place the 2 bid reinforcing. This will be quite a challenge also, for there is almost no room whatsoever to bed in the reinforcing with a brush or plastic spreader. I guess I'll have to do it with my fingers, as with the micro. I know this will result in more bubbles, but see no option.
