Brief Description: Final end rib fabrication and rib bonding
Today I completed the end rib fabrication, thus completing fabrication of all elevator ribs. After satisfying myself that all was ready, I bonded the inboard and end ribs into position first, for each required the use of flox, and the end rib needs flox and micro. So I did those four first, then bonded the remainder, which needed micro only. I did this with the lower skins attached to the hstab at the hinges.
Next step is to reinforce the ribs with bid. This is going to be interesting, for the height of the ribs is minimal in several places, and where four of the ribs meet the spar, they do so between the nut plates for the mounting of the hinges. I'll check tomorrow whether this may be done better by removing the nutplates (one at a time) and reattaching them after bonding the ribs to the spar. I'll figure this out tomorrow.
