Upon fitting the blank for the inboard rib, according to the measurements contained in the manual, I found that, yet again, the template provided in the plans are not correct. The rib location provided in the manual requires it to pass over the corner of the elevator skin reinfocing core. First I decided to notch the rib to clear the core. But further reflection makes me think that the better plan is to remove the small portion of the core so that the rib fits flat to the elevator skin. This will make the ultimate inboard surface of the elevators easier to form and finish. Still not any real help from Lancair, but I think they are still trying.
