Brief Description: Attaching nutplates to elevator spar at hinge loca
Tonight Steve Ashby came over for dinner, and brought his angle drill, countersinks and rivet squeezer to help with the mounting of the nutplates into which the bolts securing the elevator hinges fit. Steve is on the final stages of his RV-8A, and is quite a pro at all things rivets. All went fine, as we riveted the nutplates to the elevator spar. When complete, we checked for freedom of travel, and the elevator seemed to move freely. Next is fitting upper elevator skin to ensure clearances with theTE of the Hstab, and dealing again with the rib issue.
