The Hysol (a/k/a liquid gold) arrived today, so this weekend could be the charm for closing the elevators.
Today, however, I fit the rudder spar to the left elevator skin, and made the jig to hold the right rudder skin in place for bonding in the spar. Also, I mocked up the straight edge used to hold the spar in place while bonding it to the right elevator skin. My friend Bill Hayllar let me borrow a piece of 2" x 3" aluminum rectangular tubing for this purpose. It's dead straight and quite sturdy. Tomorrow if I get some time, I'll mount the tubing to some wood that I can clamp to the workbench for the bonding process, and maybe start preparing the spar for the hinge mounting points.
