Brief Description:  Flap motor position switches

Over the last few days I've been wiring the flap actuator position switches, using solid state reed switches, in place of the glass tube switches supplied by Lancair. There appeared to be a lot of issues with the old reed switches failing, so the manufacturer, SKF came up with a solid state direct replacement. Following the ES manual instructions, as modified by a contributor to the Lancair Talk forum, I was able to get all the wiring done between the motor and relays, as well as the relay interconnect wiring, including a couple of diodes. I cobbled some temporary wiring from the relays to the panel up/down switch to bench test my work. All worked perfectly the first try, a gratifying experience. By the way, I also added shielding to the flap motor and reed switch wiring, hoping to avoid RFI issues.
