Brief Description:

Today I blocked the belly down to 180 grit in prep for teh copper ground plane paint. Then I applied it. This stuff is quite thick, and dries very quickly. I applied it with a very fine foam roller. Spraying would have required quite a bit of thinning, and I had no instructions regarding thinning, so I applied it as it came from the can. This is going to be interesting. Tomorrow I'm supposed to lay down a couple of coats of WLS primer over the copper paint, leaving exposed copper for the antenna mounting areas. I'm worried about this, though, for the copper paint as applied is quite rough. I don't know if the WLS will fill enough to allow for blocking without sanding into the copper too much, interrupting the connectivity. After the copper was dry, I tested the connectivity and it worked quite well. Pretty impressive.
