Brief Description:

First thing today I finished bonding in the base for the fuel pump mounting bracket. After that, I began assembling the rudder pedals to the crossover tubes, and attaching the brake master cylinders. That process started out ok, and I thought I was pretty much finished. But no. Attaching the pedals to the tubes requires riveting the aluminum spacers to the tube, placing the pedal with sufficient clearance from the vertical component of the tube. But after I did that, and tried to mount the cylinders, no go. They did not line up with the mounts. So I had to start again, removing the rivets, and grind a bit of relief in the pedal side to allow bind-free mounting of the brake cylinders. Finally worked out just fine. Last thing today was to mount the brake fluid reservoir. Fine, but manual measurements fo rmounting placed one mounting bolt right in the middle of the joint between the left upper motor mount reinforcement and the firewall. Did I know that before drilling? Of course not. So I had to move the whole thing 1/2 inch inboard. So basically I spent half the day today working through Lancair manual goofs.
