Brief Description:  Aileron travel

Yesterday and today I spent a large amount of time getting the required 20 degrees up and 13 degree down travel in the left aileron. What made this hard was the added weight necessary to balance the aileron due to the weight of the aileron trim actuator and trim tab itself. I had so grind off some of the lead weight on the front tab of the aileron, and this was a tedious task. I finally got the required travel by using clay and paper strips to pinpoint the spots on the weights that prevented travel. Then I would dismoun the aileron, grind a small amount, re-mount the aileron, check travel, identify interference, and do this process over and over. I must have had the aileron on and off fifty times. Finally got the required travel. Now to re-balance the aileron.
