After removing the engine, I began installing the firewall blanket. After the firewall was bare, I buiilt a template from 1/4 inch plywood, to act as a caul to press against the blanket after I applied the RTV, then I applied the blanket and placed the plywood on top, securing it with nuts attached to the various mounting studs on the firewall.
