Brief Description:

Spent some time today setting the rudder up in relation to the right vertical stabilizer skin, to get at least a rough idea about where to cut the top of the VS to accept the rudder horn. The manual is typically vague about this operation. Generally, it just says to cut the notch out. No word on how to do it or how to reinforce what's left of the VS leading edge. I can fix that, though. After that, I formed and placed some aluminum wire cloth on the inside opening of the fresh air naca scoop. After forming, I bonded it in with flox, which I'll smooth up a bit tomorrow. For the screen, I got some wire cloth from McMaster-Carr, in a size that is a bit more free flowing than window screen, and made of larger wire. While having a bit larger openings, it's still enough to keep out all but the very smallest bugs.
