Brief Description:

Did a little fine tuning on the elevator stops, then determined the extra weights necessary to balance the elevators. As it turns out, they needed 29 ounces on the left and 35 on the right. That's a lot more than I thought it would be. After that, I drilled the rivet holes for one end of the elevator control rod, having broken a drill bit in the other rod end yesterday. Luckily, the new Lancair had extras, so that problem won's last for long.

Next, and with Cathy's help, I set the fuselage level in the roll axis in preparation for setting the sternpost. Next I set two plumb bobs in the front and rear center dimples, then using a string between the two, drew a line on the floor below the rear of the fuselage. Then I clamped the sternpost in, and set a plumb bob in the top center. To my pleasant surprise, it turned out to be almost exactly on the centerline. Amazing.
