Yesterday and today I fabricated a bracket to attach the pitch servo to the elevator torque tube. I had considered mounting the servo behind the 185 bulkhead, but decided to put it under the rear seat for ease of access in the future. Yesterday I pretty much guessed at the design, based upon pictures of other installations. That didn't work so well, so today I made a template from plywood, making lots of holes at various distances, then worked out the neutral position of the stick, forward and aft limits of motion. When I got a position that was appropriate, I cut and shaped a bracket from .063 thick 4130 steel. Steel may be a bit of overkill, but this is a pretty long moment from the axis, so I did not want any flexing. I'll finish up the bracket tomorrow.
