Got some odds and ends done today, but the best part was engaging in a proof of concept exercise. The HS is over 13 feet, and my garage doors are nine feet. I always planned to essentially complete the fabrication in my garage, then transport to the airport. My calculations and drawings made me believe I could do that, but the question was always whether I could get the plane out once the HS was bonded to the fuselage. So today Cathy and I put the HS in place, more or less, then manuevered the fuselage out of the garage. Actually, it was a lot easier than I had calculated. I know that it will be a bit different when the VS is on, but not a whole lot. This was a big relief.
