I spliced the three part leading edge stiffener, getting ready to place it later. After this, I began fabricating the forward shear web. This piece is made from 5 pps, 3/8 inch pre-preg, with embedded phenolic. Problem is that the piece left over from the left wing was not long enough to span the entire desired length, from BL 25.5 to BL 120, which, as with the left wing, will give me an added fuel bay, upping the capacity to 90 gallons total. With advice from Lancair, I extended the shear web by appropriate splicing of a 2 pps 1/4 inch pre-peg, then adding 3 bid reinforcement to both sides, achieving the total 5 plies per side for the entire length of the shear web.
