Brief Description:

Tonight I continued sanding on the aileron leading edge gap. To help ensure no flat spots, I used a worn out foam sanding block on the curved surface, with sandpaper under the block. Going slowly proved the key. After much sanding, checking, measuring, sanding, measuring, etc., I'm pretty well satisfied with the gap. It's pretty even throughout the arc, and is just a tad more than .050 inch throughout. After that, I was not satisfied with the notches in the upper aileron leading edge, which are required for hinge clearance. The inboard notch is fine, but the middle and outboard are a bit too large, and don't look alike. So I closed up the notch with 2-bid, will add micro tomorrow, and will re-do the notches when cured. Most of these efforts are cosmetic, of course. I'm not trying to build a show winner, but if I'm aware of a flaw, then that's what my eye will always go to. No need for that.
