Yet another setback today. I decided to test the accuracy of my flap rib alignment, and learned quickly that my partial eyeball alignment of yesterday just didn't meet my standards. Upon rotation, the flap hinges came too close to meeting the hinge mounting brackets. The manual requires that the hinges be potted in parallel to the hinge brackets, but gives no guidance regarding just how to achieve that alignment. Apparently eyeballs are not enough.
So I removed the ribs from last evening's mounting, and started over. I finally decided to use some scrap pre-peg material, clamped to the hinge mounting brackets, then also clamped to the ribs. When cured tomorrow, I can check the alignment by mocking up the mounting, and checking the alignment upon rotation.
