Brief Description:

Inspection panels. Why did it have to be inspection panels? For some reason, I'd rather drop into an ancient tomb filled with slithering snakes than build inspection holes and panels. I haven't posted in a while because of computer problems, which now seem to be solved. I'm at the step of making the inspection holes and covers for the aileron ilder arm and bellcrank. The first problem I discovered was that the 139 and 145 ribs, with capstrips, are too close together to provide access to the bellcrank if the holes and covers are built according to plans. After consulting with Lancair, the decision is to use the capstrips to mount the nutplates, thus saving about one inch or so.

While that investigation was ongoing, I decided to build the idler arm inspection hole and cover panel. Simple, huh? Well, it should be, assuming that the hole is cut on the proper side of the BL 75 rib, which of course I didn't do. Aaargh. So that meant closing the wrong hole and starting over.
