Yesterday my friend Jeremy and I went to Aircraft Spruce (only about an hour from my house) and I bought the 3/8 inch tubing needed for the new vent lines. I also got enough proper sized bolts and rivets to finish the wings.
The first work was to cut out for the new location for the fuel filler. I then used the piece of the upper skin cut out for the fuel filler to patch the prior hole. After the patch cured overnight, I covered the entire patch and surrounding area with 4 bid.
Over the last two days, I placed and reinforced the wing tie down, and tonight I cut out the lower wing skin to allow the tiedown to fit through and flush with the lower skin.
Also today, I floxed in the fuel filler neck in the new location. I'll reinforce that area tomorrow. Next I flared the fuel vent tube, and cut it to length. Fixing the vent line to the skin and ribs will have to wait till I get the fuel filer tube reinforced.
Finally, I started the process of cutting out the lower skin for the flap hinge plates. That's a fiddle.
