Brief Description:

Three days worth of work are covered here. I have decided to add one more fuel bay, which will add, with both sides, about 15 extra gallons, bringing the total from about 75 to about 90 gallons. My thanks to out to all those on the Lancair Mail List for their comments. This means, though, I will need to move the fuel filler. this will be a bit of work, but worth it I believe. I'll also replace the vent line, which I now believe is, in the later models, 3/8 inch instead of the 1/4 inch the manual provides. So to start, I added an extension to the forward shear web, and will add the appropriate cap strip and reinforcement accordingly. Wish I'd known of this earlier.

Also, I set the flap hinges, and today, with my friend Steve Ashby's help, (not to mention his tools) I set all but two of the required nutplates for the flap hinges. Didn't have the correct length rivets for two of the plates.

In addition, I fabricated the fuel slosh doors, and set them temporarily in place, in order to do a micro release. This will minimize leakage around the doors when they are in the closed position.
