The gray tank sealant that was applied to the inside of the wheel wells in the stub wings while we were at Lancair has yellowed badly and I've decided, much to my chagrin, to remove it! It took many, many hours of sanding and grinding to get it out but I'm sure I'll be happier in the long run. Although my wheel wells won't be seen very much, it just didn't look good at all. I'm not sure what I'll use in there now, but I'd like to keep it light colored so that a hydraulic leak could be detected relatively easily. I'm leaning toward a Zolatone coating with a clear coat on top. Maybe I'll try it in the fulelage first to see if I like it.
