Brief Description:  Test Install of Left and Right Wings

Test installed the left and right wings. Consulted with Randy Clarke who is a wealth of information.
Follow are some install notes:

1. We ordered the neccessary HW from RANS on 8/8. There was some difficulty with the order and it didn't ship until 8/13. It's coming by Pony Express and should arrive later today. Key component is the NAS "close tolerance" bolts.

2. The Rans Text manual describes a process of "sanding" 3/8" bolts create alignment pins to facilitate the wing alignment. I purchased six 3" bolts and Greg turned them down removing the threads and creating a point. BE CAREFUL NOT TO HAVE THE WING REST ON THE THREADED PORTION OF THE BOLTS. For the right wing I purchased six 4" bolts which works a better.

3. The text also refers to "reaming the holes". Our version of the manual says this can be done anytime however the general wisdon is it should be done as the fuselage carry through is being built since there is very little room available to work after installation. I hope is that the holes were reamed during construction but there is no way of knowing until the NAS close tolerance arrive.

4. Greg and I attempted to install the left wing but the fuselage carry through was too narrow. Randy pointed out that the fuselage carry through was held together by several bolts with spacer tubes between the two plates that make up the fuselage carry through. We loosened the bolts and were able to move them apart enough with a wood wedge. The wing spares fit although it was still tight.

5. We used an industrial endoscope to view the holes to determine when the spare holes aligned with the carry through holes.

At this point awaiting the arrival later today of the RANS order and specifically the NAS close tolerance bolts.
