Spent many hours fitting the baffles in anticipation of the first start. Still need to fabricate and install the "L" bracket on the top of the baffle that will be used to secure the tie down spring. Uncle Rick also suggested I use a magic marker to lable the spring # which we will obtain from the Aviation Isle of local ACE Hardware store. We fabricatee the tie down clips from scrap aluminum. We also had to trim the aft deflector to allow room for the spark plug and cylinder head temp wires.
We purged the engine and added 3.8 quarts of 100 Aeroshell oil. We then connected a battery, pulled the plugs, and cranked the engine. We observed oil pressure building to over 46 pounds. There may be a calibration issue as the Dynon D120 panel shows 8 pounds of pressure prior to cranking. Christmas is coming!!!!
