Today, I did some final prep on the forward panels I wanted to paint. I used a product by ChemSpec USA (Australian based company) called MetaCryl Pro. It was a 2K Polyurethane with a very high solid content. That basically means very low pressure and excellent coverage with little chance of runs at rivet heads. It worked as advertised, although I need to experiment a bit more with the amount of paint I'm moving through the spray gun.
