Today I made the decision to install the front float fittings, so I had to enlarge the landing gear cutouts to install the fittings. Later, I will add a cover plate to better enclose the fittings. I found another builder that had a set available, so purchased them from him. They should arrive in a couple of days. I will need to remove the lower bolts from the #2 and 3 Carry Through stations where the landing gear bracket is installed and purchase longer bolts to accomodate the fittings.
Next, I began work on the forward post assembly. This is one strong box! It carries the wing loads and the heavy cross bar across the top of the cabin. There will be one for each side, and they attach between the #2 and 3 carry through. The box is simply sheet aluminum sides, channel the full length on the edges, and four channel cross pieces. I'll build the matching one tomorrow.
