Today, I spent all day working on the six stringers on the leading edge. They are now all match drilled, and the stringers are cleaned up. Next, I'll deburr the leading edge skin, and begin to countersink the #30 holes in the leading skin for flush rivets.
Normally, you would only countersink skins .040 thick. But since the Avex rivets are 120 degrees vs. the normal 100 degrees, it works well with the .032 skin and is the preferred method of the designer. The Avex countersunk rivets get filled and then the leading edge is sanded. Once painted, it's very smooth.
