Today I spent a little time thinking through the landing light installation. Because of their size, the fromt spar needs to be trimmed back to allow the light installation. According to the designer, Darryl Murphy, it is ok to place them in the outer two bays, trimming the front spar extension. The two lights together are approximately 2" less than the space between the two nose ribs. Consequently, I'll make another nose rib from a block and frame the lights in between an existing rib and a new rib.
