Today, my goal was to install/time the magnetos. I have Bendix SL6N-200/204 mags with a starter vibrator (without relay). I did a lot of research on the correct way to install, and then set the #1 at 25 degrees BTDC and then realized I needed a lock for the Bendix mag. I borrowed one from a friend and in the end, realized I needed two magneto adapters (spacers) between the accessory case and the mags. Ugh! So, back to the computer and found two on Ebay for a low price. They will arrive this week. Kind of bummed.
I then installed the muffler. This is something I purchased second hand knowing I would have to modify it a bit. I intend to cut it off right after the last cylinder and rework the exit from the aircraft. My local race car guy will weld it up for me.
