Today, I removed the two ribs on the inside of the elevator V. The original plans and pre-punched elevator ribs and skin did not allow enough room for the rudder., So, I trimmed each side back to the edge of the original rivet holes for the ribs, then using that piece, match drilled the holes in the skin to reposition the already drilled ribs. See Image 1. I trimmed the leading wrapped edge as it now didn't match up with the holes in the spar, so I added two brackets up front to tie it all together.
When finished, I also drilled out the rivets and pealed back the leading edge to ream out the hinges to the final size, something I overlooked earlier. Tomorrow, I'll try and refit everything.
