Today, I went back to the hangar and was able to successfully get the center bolt in. I did it by attaching the elevator cables and tensioning them up. Then I looked at the angle of the bolt as it caught the hole and pushed in the correct direction. It slipped right in. I was able to get all the nuts and cotter pins on except the center bolt. I need to find two short stubby 7/16" wrenches to do the job. I also installed the rudder successfully. I need a few different bolts for the cable hookups. I'll go back on Friday.
