Today I made some final decisions on antennas and began to mount them in the appropriate place. The lower comm antenna is a RAMI stainless steel wire and I mounted it halfway between the flap push pull tube and the shear web, just aft of the flap handle mechanism. I had to make a channel to go between the two shear webs, to add some strenght. I trimmed the edges of the channel to 3/8 of an inch, which provided sufficient clearance for the rudder cables and the push pull tube. Then, I worked on the upper comm antenna. I put it beside the doubler I made for the flap cable and it appears to be stiff enough. Finally, I put the ELT antenna about 3' behind the upper comm antenna. More tomorrow.
