Today I finished deburring the upper tank skin. I also corrected my earlier mistake with the two stringers on the bottom tank/wing skin. I was supposed to start them 3/8" from the second hole on the skin, and I started with the first hole. Consequently, I used my dremel tool with a cutoff wheel and cut them as close to the wing skin as possible. I then used a hack saw horizontal to the surface, and cut off the back edge of the stringer. Then, I was able to get a chisel under the edge of the stringer and lift it up, bending it where I made the cut. It snapped off and then I cleaned it up with a file.
I located the leading edge wing skin as well as the extension, and then began to pull off the plastic. The picture is where I stopped -- time to get ready for the local EAA chapter Christmas Party.
Preparing to remove plastic from leading edge skin -- ugh
